Part 2 of the 2025 Blog Update, come along as I cover more excitement!
June 6th-8th I Vended at Sunfest In Castlegar with https://www.instagram.com/jonahs_gallery_1995?igsh=aWpwenlyaDh3cGJj and our neighbours were https://www.instagram.com/2.blue.ghosts?igsh=M2tyYzg0dnhkdGQx unfortunately it was both very windy so I had to put some items away and tape my stickers down. It also became incredibly overwhelming so I decided to leave a day early but it was a cool experience.

On June 12th I got to do a really exciting activity with Rosemont Elementary School with my good friend Jesse Halton. We started out by talking about my book Roadtrips and Rainbow Trout and my experience with reconciliation. Then we handed out copies and original pages from the book for the kiddos to colour in. Afterwards Jesse did a language lesson with the translations in the book, both Sinixt and Ktunaxa. In September my book and the coloured in pages will be going into the story share up at the Nelson Skatepark! The turtle page was everyone’s favourite by far and one kid had my book at home!
Then on June 24th Jesse came over and we put the book back together … well almost. We took the original book pages that the kids coloured in and laminated them then rebound the book. Then did that three more times with the kids coloured in pages as photo copies. A copy for Rosemont School, The Public Library, The Storyshare Project and the organization we are working with.

June 13th I did some VERY late night prepping as I forgot that I signed up for the Game of Shrooms the global mushroom art and seek scavenger hunt! Because I forgot about the event I seriously lacked in the advertising department and I was also unable to hide them over town and just at Cottonwood Falls as I had a market the day of. I ended up making 3 small prints and 5 magnets and hid them around the park, I posted hints on my instagram story and occasionally took a noodle to see if any had been found. By the end of the market they were all gone! https://yumfactory.com/projects/gameofshrooms/?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAabD0wBauj-Xgk7bIc-G4z9RW35NOypIP4ZcNPZ9HMO4fh917GwUwh3xZh0_aem_u1Sud7H1O8FNOAFk-eJWkw#artist-map

Mid July I finally finished some really cool bookmark designs I had been working on! They are the different Basic land cards for a card game I play called Magic the Gathering. I am pretty sure if I put the actual symbols on them I could get in trouble so I tried to do work arounds! In order there is the Mountain, Swamp, Plains, Island and Forest Land cards.

July 25th was the first Nelsons Night Market! This was very exciting because I grew up paroozling the night market and I never imagined that one day I would be vending at it! Two of my friends helped me set up and hung out with me and beside me was https://www.instagram.com/2.blue.ghosts?igsh=M2tyYzg0dnhkdGQx ! As the night went on we unraveled lights to light up my booth! Also I had https://www.instagram.com/novanight87?igsh=MTBxMHNwMGswZ3N4Mw== stickers for sale and https://www.instagram.com/my_whimsical_lights?igsh=MWM2d2YxazRwNnE1Mw== night lights for sale too!

August 9th and 10th I joined https://abbywilson.ca/ at her studio as she very kindly shared her space with me for the Columbia Basin Cultural Tour! It was very warm, she helped me gather names for a mailing list and gave me art tips… she also gave me lunch! Overall a very fun experience. I also did a raffle for an original watercolour piece and the couple in the bottom right hand corner photo won it!

August 11th I stayed up to watch a meteor shower and painted my friend’s cat for their birthday!
