Some fun facts about Kokanee Salmon!
These fish are semelparous, which means they only spawn once before they die. Since they only spawn in their four or fifth year, very few members of this species live past that mark.
During spawning season, both males and females change color from a bluish-silver to bright or dark red. Males are more vibrant than females.
