Markets and events from April to June

This is a MAJOR market catch up post!

April 13th I vended / attended ECLIPTIC a rave in Salmo that my friend put on! There was a few vendors including myself and I raffled off one of the whales from the lantern festival! The whale was safely transferred to its new home and is hanging from the ceiling seen in the last image!

April 20th I vended at a 420 themed market in Ymir! It was super fun, warm and there was soooo many doggo friends! Sadly the stickers I had designed for 420 didn’t arrive on time but otherwise it was great fun!

May 11th was the Mothers Day Market and the start of the Nelson Farmers Market Season! It was hella hot out and half way through I had to stop eating and drinking because later that day I got my wisdom teeth removed.

May 26th was the Spring Fling at Mount Sentinel School. It was exceptionally slow and we were in the gym. I did make the woodcarver that was beside me quite happy with my art and he gave me some wood rounds to draw on.

June 5th I was on Baker st for the Wednesday Market and on June 16th I was at the Saturday market! At the Saturday market these two absolute legends bought FOUR Mountain Dummy Thicc Lg stickers!

June 22nd Isaiah and I drove to Slocan Park for a very nice market and I would like to return next summer! There was music, sun and some very tasty treats, definitely worth the drive!

June 29th I participated in Artwalk for the second year! I had 8 pieces in very nice wooden frames that my Papa made! My location was on Houston st at a nice ladies Pottery studio called Ovo. This year’s theme was outlines of animals and inside local locations. Like Bear Cubs / Trout Lake , Coyote / S.S. Moyie and Frog / Fletcher Falls. All have sold except the Elk / Idaho Peak and Canadian Goose / Lakeside Park , they are $120.00 and if you’re interested please use the contact page to inquire.

My Artwalk opening night experience!

The Artwalk location I have my artwork at is Booksmyth in Nelson BC. I shared the location with Kimberley Hyatt, https://instagram.com/hyattkimberley?igshid=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== .

My artwork is displayed amongst the books and on the sides of bookshelves. Along with some stickers and bookmarks I was selling as well

Opening night was super busy and I only ended up getting one photo (see below image, I am posing with a piece that sold). It was really exciting to explain my art process and inspirations but I definitely did not expect to see so many people come out! So a big Thank You to everyone that came out and supported Artwalk 2023! ❤️

🎨 35th Annual Art Walk 🚶‍♀️

A fully in-person experience featuring local artists, performers, and venues in 2023. ArtWalk is an annual tradition that has united businesses, artists, and community members for over three decades. The event populates unique venues with quality, locally produced artwork which draws traffic to local businesses and increases the visibility of Nelson and area artists.

ArtWalk’s two opening nights (Saturday, June 24th and Saturday, August 5th) will showcase participating artists at their venues alongside a collection of street performances and other delights throughout Nelson’s downtown core from 6 – 9 pm. A new set of artists will have their work on display at each opening. After the openings, art will be available to view at the participating venues during their regular hours until Sunday, September 10th.

I am pleased to say that I will be part of this years ArtWalk! I will be at the June 24th opening at Booksmyth, so come on down and say hi. I will have 5 pieces from a series I have been doing using buildings in Nelson and 3 pieces from a previous gallery show.
